Dead Beer Fridge

Postby joel » Thu Jun 07, 2012 10:30 am

My beer fridge died last week. Anyone know if and how it can be diagnosed and/or fixed? I'm thinking compressor failure most likely (?). It's a cheap Haier.

Barring that, any thoughts on what I should replace it with? It holds four cornies, about 18 bottles in the drawers underneath, and has a small manual-defrost internal freezer section useful for storing hops, chiles, etc. I could do without the freezer section, and typically have no more than two cornies in use at any given time. The extra fridge space does get used for bottles and other kitchen-fridge overflow. Small chest freezer? Kegerator?

Favorite Beer?: Dirty Hippy Mild. Or Samichlaus. Maybe Bigfoot. Or Bourbon County Stout. Victory Prima Pils would also do...

Does it make any sort of noises when it switches on or just a click and then nothing?

It clicks then nothing, every few minutes. Or it did before I unplugged it entirely.
