Where to find deals on brew pot

Postby Andylytical » Thu Sep 26, 2013 2:59 pm

I'm thinking about adding a good (ie: heavy duty, thick bottom) brew pot to my equipment to use for decoction. Anyone have any suggestions for where to look or monitor for good deals? I already subscribe to several online brew shops. I'm thinking things like restaurant close-outs/sell-off's, ding/dent sales, etc...

Pull a thinner decoction and buy a cheaper pot ;D

More seriously, really awesome deals are going to be found on Craigslist and the like, decent deals can be found on Ebay, and from there, everything else is just going to be retail cost (i.e. homebrew supply stores running "specials", etc.)

Andy-
I use a 20qt. ceramic canning pot. Purchased for $20 Meijer close-out. As it is canning time, these are likely to be in stores now. I have a propane cooker at low heat and manage decoction alright with it.
